Knitty Strikes Again! I Gots Me Another Project

Claudia Handpaints Silk Lace
Originally uploaded by sunasak

A few weeks ago I got some beautiful Claudia Handpaints silk laceweight yarn (depicted here). I knew I would want to do something special with it.

Today the Knitty Surprise for this issue came out, and there are three patterns. One is this one, Juno Regina.

It has a lovely lace edge and a simple middle, which would be great for when I need to work on something "mindless." The rainbow colors would keep it interesting. This is a perfect project for the yarn. And I have enough yarn. Woot! I love it when a plan comes together (old people will remember the source of that line).

To quickly review, the other projects are a hat and scarf that would be nice first intarsia projects, though not anything I need, and Oblique, a very lovely lacey sorta double breasted cardigan that may be the next cardigan I do for myself. It looks comfy and fun.

  1. Oh that is really lovely yarn and will look great in the Juno Regina wrap.

I've already put oblique in my queue on Ravelry. I think it is next up after I knit Mr. Greenjeans which you inspired me to knit!

  2. I fell in love with that pattern, too. I'm casting on for it tonight, and am going to try to finish it in time for my wedding. ^_^

It's the perfect lacy chawl-type thing I was looking for. ^_^

  5. Loved Juno Regina immediately...but I have been strong: first I have to finish the wedding shawl for my MIL and after that I may order 2 more skeins of Finnish silk wool to make this beauty!
Your Silk lace is very beautiful.

  6. Wow! What a beautiful cardigan that will be! When I grow up I want to be able to knit the gorgeous sweaters and socks you make, my friend. Until then, I'll keep working on my handwarmers, scarves, and bags....
